Surprisingly easy, now that I stop to think about it. This family is great to travel with, and people notice. Carolyn, the hostess at the local Uno’s Chicago Grill, came up to us and asked, “Are you homeschooled?” When we said yes, she told us that she could tell. 
She was a schoolteacher for 20 years, she said, and can tell when a family is homeschooled: disciplined and polite. We’ve heard that before, and it’s always nice to get a pat on the back. Good old Caroline. Maybe the California judge who ruled homeschooling unconstitutional should have a talk with her.
Our hotel in Williamsburg is a Howard Johnson Inn, and we like it. We’re going to be here a total of six days, so Brenda took extra care in finding a good one. If you go to the site, check out the photo of the pool. Nice, clear image…but today, you’d see steam rising from it! That pool is HOT! You’d think it was a sauna; actually, it’s only a few degrees cooler than the hot tub.
Most of the family is in Colonial Williamsburg. I came back to the hotel around lunchtime with Tommy, Zane, and Nellie. Zane wasn’t feeling that great, so I am giving him the afternoon off. Tommy wanted to go with me, and I think Brenda decided Nellie wanted to go, too. She’d much rather eat a PBJ and watch Jimmy Neutron than discover American history, I suppose.
Sounds like Brenda has things totally under control.
“Governor Schwarzenegger said Friday he would go to the legislature if the ruling is not overturned.” Go Arnold! He’ll “be back”… wah..wah..wah… Ok, bad joke, but wow… I already knew that people in Cali were a bit nuts when it comes to their laws regarding parent’s rights with their very own children, but this is pretty wow. Anyways, that hotel looks like a nice one, esp. for the price-go Brenda! And kudos to you papa of the group for doing “I don’t feel good, I’m bored, I wanna go with you” watch… lol. Miss you guys!
