The title says it all. After almost 21 days on the road, we arrived back home yesterday afternoon. Thanks everyone for praying for us and for following along on our adventure!

Little Adventures
When I first sat down at this computer to blog, I thought I would give you an overview of the day. But now that I think about it, that would be kind of boring, wouldn’t it? The coolest parts of books are the little sub-plots, the extra bits tossed in to make the whole a… Continue reading Little Adventures
another full day
Although the Reptile House was cool, I must disagree with Samantha. To me, the coolest part of the National Zoological Park was the large indoor exhibit, and specifically, the Golden Lion Tamarins. Quite impressive, although temporarily closed, was the outdoor exhibit for these Brazilian monkeys, who were moved indoors due to the cold weather. Golden… Continue reading another full day
Artillery and Chickens
It seems that there are two things all the places we have been visiting have in common: artillery and chickens. Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and the historical site we visited today, Yorktown, all have these –apparently– important additions to the sites. Today we watched cannons being fired (no actual bombs were used) by two men at… Continue reading Artillery and Chickens
Jamestown
Jamestown was the destination for our group today. We left the hotel at 9:15 this morning, breaking our past record of getting out the door at 9:30! The Jamestown Settlement was one of the funnest places we have been to so far, mostly because of all the hands-on stuff we got to do. There, they… Continue reading Jamestown
Another fun but exhausting day…..
Today we traveled back in time to Colonial Williamsburg, where some of us spent five and a half hours! There was so much to see and do, I almost didn’t know where to start! Fortunately for me, I wasn’t the one deciding what to do. That was all mama, our Trip Coordinator, Snack Provider, Piggy-back… Continue reading Another fun but exhausting day…..
Colonial Williamsburg
Today was a fun day on the Cacy adventure. First, we got to sleep in past 7:30am for the first time since Wednesday (I slept till 9am!). Then we once again filled the car up with people, maps, tour books and snacks and headed for Colonial Williamsburg, just a few miles from our hotel in… Continue reading Colonial Williamsburg
Site Seeing At Last
As Tommy said yesterday, ”I thought we came here to do and see things. All I’ve done is sit in the car and all I’ve seen are hotels.” Well, that changed today. On Day 3 of the Cacys Great Adventure, we woke up at our hotel in Charlotteville, Virginia, packed our bags and hit the… Continue reading Site Seeing At Last
Day 1
Here we are, after a full day of traveling, in Louisville, Kentucky! After a short stop at Nostalgia Ville (crazy as it sounds, its real! Look it up!), we ate lunch at Arby’s before continuing on the road. When we got to this hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, we ate dinner by the side of the… Continue reading Day 1
on the road
Hey everyone! We are finally on the road, after lots of last minute packing and planning. Right now, I am being annoyed to death by listening to my sister watching Wonder Pets on our new portable DVD player. If you have ever watched Wonder Pets, you can sympathize with me, if you haven’t, you have… Continue reading on the road
