another full day

Although the Reptile House was cool, I must disagree with Samantha. To me, the coolest part of the National Zoological Park was the large indoor exhibit, and specifically, the Golden Lion Tamarins. Quite impressive, although temporarily closed, was the outdoor exhibit for these Brazilian monkeys, who were moved indoors due to the cold weather. Golden Lion Tamarins are small, golden colored monkeys with orange-colored ‘manes’ like lions.  Another cool animal was the Prevost’s squirrel, a squirrel with very neat colorful markings.

A highly recommended movie is the one that we are watching at this moment: Around the World 80 Days (the remake with Jackie Chan). Or maybe the movie just seems this good when you have your family around you, several large Papa John’s pizzas, plenty of Dr. Pepper and a comfy bed to relax on. Or maybe its just me!

  1. Hey there – Hope you were able to pick up the KU-Texas game, and the selection show. We were at the Coleman’s for the event – great fun.

I am enjoying reading your stuff. Hope you are having a great time.

  2. That’s a great way to watch a movie. I think that was even a funny movie. The boys say that nothing would make “2001: A Space Odyssey” a good movie though. There is quite a bit of history out here in Arizona for your next trip. We miss you guys. Be sure to eat from the street vendors in Philly, it’s cheap and awesome.

  3. We’ve been talking about heading that way soon. We can’t get there before summer. How about meeting in the mountains of new mexico?

  4. I’d have to side with Allie, taking the monkeys over the reptiles any day. Jarad told me yesterday I could comment back to you all after exploring your vacation with you. It sounds like you are all having a great time!!! I hope the rest of your vacation rocks your socks off!!
